Market & Business Development Director - Germany (all genders)

Your future tasks:

• Lead the country development strategy, defining market priorities, positioning and opportunities for pipeline growth.
• Represent the company with authorities, regulators, industry bodies and strategic partners, in coordination with Public Affairs.
• Lead the local development team across stakeholder engagement, permitting and environmental disciplines.
• Own the country development roadmap, aligning project priorities, approval milestones and stakeholder objectives.
• Oversee permitting and environmental strategy, including Environmental Impact Assessments, to secure timely approvals and meet regulatory requirements.
• Integrate permitting and environmental workstreams into project planning, risk management and governance; review key deliverables before submission or external use.
• Identify and manage permitting, stakeholder, regulatory and market risks, escalating material issues when required.
• Coordinate with Public Affairs, Legal, Communications, HSE and technical teams to align external positioning with project needs and corporate strategy.
• Support investment cases, strategic reviews and management reporting with clear updates on country development progress, opportunities and risks.
  
  
  

Your profile:

• An advanced degree in Engineering, Environmental Sciences, Business, Public Affairs, Political Science, Law or a related field.
• Several years of relevant experience in renewable energy, offshore wind or large-scale infrastructure, including senior leadership in development, permitting or public affairs.
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and coordinate complex development activities in a regulated environment.
• Strong knowledge of local permitting, environmental, regulatory and stakeholder requirements relevant to offshore wind or major infrastructure projects.
• Sound strategic, commercial and political judgement, with the ability to turn market and policy developments into clear priorities.
• A track record of representing an organisation effectively with authorities, regulators, partners and other senior stakeholders.
• Strong leadership and negotiation skills across international teams and functions; fluency in English and German.
