About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal DevOps Engineer to join our dynamic development team. In this role, you will be instrumental in designing, implementing, and maintaining our scalable and reliable online gaming infrastructure. You will lead key DevOps initiatives, collaborate closely with game developers, community managers, and product teams, and ensure our high-availability systems operate seamlessly under high load conditions. Your expertise will help optimize our deployment pipelines, automate workflows, and enhance our cloud infrastructure, primarily based on Google Cloud Platform. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge technology stacks, contribute to the development of innovative multiplayer games, and influence the operational excellence of our products.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in IT maintenance, database and network architecture, and systems integration
• Strong background in automation and system administration, especially with Debian and Linux environments
• Experience with high-load and high-availability systems, including load optimization techniques
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms, preferably Google Cloud, and related management tools such as Terraform and Kubernetes
• Knowledge of modern build systems, tech stacks, and toolchains
• Proficiency in Java or other high-level programming languages
• Experience in shipping, developing, and maintaining at least one commercial product or game
• Ability to clearly articulate and document technical designs and solutions
• Fluent in English, both verbal and written
  
  

Responsibilities

• Lead and execute critical DevOps projects from planning through deployment, guiding technical decision-making processes
• Maintain and enhance the stability, scalability, and high availability of our production systems
• Analyze system performance and implement optimizations at both OS and application levels
• Prototype, establish, and fine-tune new DevOps tools and technologies to improve operational efficiency
• Automate and improve development workflows using tools such as GitHub Actions, Helm, ArgoCD, Ansible, Docker, and Webpack
• Collaborate closely with game development, community, product teams, and sister studios within the Stillfront Group
• Stay current with industry trends, attend conferences, and share knowledge with the team to foster continuous improvement
