Your Challenge
We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Treasury Accountant to join our EMEA Record to Report (RTR) Treasury Accounting team in Hamburg, Germany, for a one-year assignment covering maternity leave.
The team is responsible for the accounting and financial reporting of the Regional Treasury Center in EMEA, the Special Purpose Vehicle supporting ADM’s International Accounts Receivable Securitization Program and selected holding companies.
In this role, you will support accounting and reporting activities related to funding and liquidity management, intercompany financing, foreign exchange risk management, trade receivables financing, intercompany investments, and dividend distributions. Your responsibilities will include recording treasury-related transactions in the ERP system, preparing balance sheet reconciliations and financial analyses, supporting period-end closing and audit activities, and ensuring compliance with SOX requirements, internal controls and accounting policies.
You will collaborate closely with colleagues across Finance and gain valuable exposure to Treasury Accounting and Financial Reporting in an international environment. The role reports directly to the RTR Treasury Accounting Team Lead.

Your Key Responsibilities
- Record accounting transactions in the ERP system (JD Edwards), ensuring accuracy and compliance with US GAAP.
- Support the monthly accounting and reporting activities.
- Monitor and reconcile balance sheet reconciliations and investigate reconciling items.
- Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities with a focus on accuracy and timely delivery.
- Calculate and record interest- and discount-related transactions and support intercompany confirmation and settlement activities.
- Prepare financial analyses, supporting schedules, and management reports.
- Work closely with Corporate Treasury, Tax, Global Business Services, and other Record to Report towers to support reporting and operational activities.
- Ensure compliance with SOX requirements, internal controls, and accounting policies.
- Support internal and external audit requests.
- Contribute to process improvements, system enhancements, and projects.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in Corporate or Treasury Accounting is preferred.
- Experience within a Corporate Treasury, Finance, or Working Capital Management environment is an advantage.
- Good understanding of accounting principles, internal controls, and financial reporting processes.
- Experience with balance sheet reconciliations and month-end close activities.
- Strong Excel skills and experience with ERP systems (JD Edwards, SAP, or similar).
- Experience with HFM or other financial reporting systems is a plus.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively with stakeholders across Finance.
- Independent, reliable, and detail-oriented with a proactive mindset.
- Fluent in English; additional European language skills are an advantage.
- Valid work authorization for Germany.
