Business Development Manager (Enterprise Sales) | Sustainability & Automotive SaaS | €50k base / 63k OTE | Hamburg (hybrid) - #2677540
Nobel Recruitment
(This role is ideally hybrid from Hamburg / Northern Germany, and bilingual/C2-level German is required to be a successful applicant)
Your Future Employer
Join an established international SaaS business in the product compliance and sustainability space, supporting some of the world’s largest manufacturers with complex products and global supply chains.
The business combines 25+ years of specialist automotive expertise with the scale of a 1,000+ employee international SaaS organisation, following a recent acquisition by a global compliance software provider.
The combined business brings together:
- Deep expertise in automotive, Product Compliance and Product Sustainability
- A broader international compliance platform and customer base
- Strong presence across complex manufacturing industries including automotive, electronics, aerospace and industrial manufacturing
- Significant domain and consulting expertise alongside its software offering
For this team specifically, the focus remains clear: automotive. The existing 3-person BDM team is becoming the specialist automotive pod within a broader ~40-person international Business Development organisation, creating an unusual combination of scale and visibility.
Your Role as Business Development Manager
This is an Enterprise BDM role, focused on generating high-quality pipeline within the automotive market.
You will:
- Target and engage enterprise automotive accounts
- Run structured, campaign-driven outbound rather than volume-based “spray & pray”
- Build an understanding of customer challenges around Product Compliance and Product Sustainability
- Perform strong qualification before handing opportunities to Enterprise Sales
- Collaborate closely with the sales organisation responsible for progressing your SQLs
- Develop the commercial and industry knowledge required to navigate complex enterprise buying environments
You will operate in a quality-over-quantity environment, with exposure to complex enterprise sales cycles rather than surface-level lead generation.
Leadership Style & Work Environment
You’ll join a supportive, development-focused sales environment combining hands-on coaching with autonomy:
- Strong onboarding, coaching and regular feedback
- Clear expectations with ownership over how you execute
- Room to shape campaigns and approaches
- Close collaboration with peers and senior commercial stakeholders
- Ambitious environment without “call-centre pressure”
- Exposure to both the existing German team and a much larger international BD organisation
The wider company also sees Business Development as a talent pool for future commercial roles, with many Enterprise Account Executives having previously progressed from BDM positions.
Who You Are
Experience:
- Early- to mid-career commercial or customer-facing experience
- SaaS / IT exposure preferred
- Automotive experience or affinity is a strong plus, but not required
- Open to high-potential candidates looking for their first dedicated BDM role
Mindset:
- Curious, structured and coachable
- Comfortable learning a complex product and industry
- Ownership-driven rather than purely activity-driven
- Enjoys outbound + interested in developing towards enterprise SaaS sales
Languages: German (C2), English (strong working proficiency)
Location: Hamburg is strongly preferred, followed by Northern Germany.
