Working Student IT-Security (m/f/d) - #2231127

We are currently looking for a Working Student IT-Security (m/f/d) who is eager to join our IT-Security Team at ABOUT YOU.

Our IT-Security unit is passionate about security and hacking. The team ensures that customers of our online shop, and our B2B customers, have a safe shopping experience and their personal data is secure with us. The Incident Response circle within the IT-Security unit is responsible for detection of malicious activity and response to security incidents. Your goal within this circle will be to investigate security events and improve our incident response capabilities.

Challenges the team will be working on in the upcoming months:

• Collecting more logs relevant to threat detection and response
• Maintaining and improving web application firewall rules
• Automating incident response processes
• Continuous training within the DFIR area
  
  

What you will do

• Respond to security-related alerts and messages from various monitoring tools
• Investigate potentially malicious events within the company’s infrastructure
• Improve incident detection and response processes in the company
• Participate in various projects that the team is involved in
• Consult our colleagues regarding any security-related questions they might have
• Keep an eye on current threats and zero-day vulnerabilities in the cyber security space and implement preventative measures within the organization
  
  

Who you are

• You are currently studying, or have a background, in IT Security, Computer Science, IT-Administration, or something similar
• You are fluent in written and spoken English
• You can clearly communicate using email and other digital tools (e.g., Slack or MS Teams)
• You are interested in incident response, blue teaming or digital forensics
• You understand the basics of computer networking, firewalls, and VPNs
• You are able to write scripts and programs to automate tasks in Python or Bash
• You are familiar with Linux
• Experience in AWS is a strong plus
