Head-of Engineering (m/w/d) - Supply Tech - onsite in Hamburg or Berlin - #2139025

We are currently looking for a skilled & passionate Head of Engineering (m/f/d) to lead our Supply Tech Unit at ABOUT YOU onsite in Hamburg or Berlin.

Our Supply Tech Unit is responsible for discovering and creating technical solutions for integrating our supply from beginning to end. With a keen understanding of our supply business and extensive knowledge of the system landscape that runs our ABOUT YOU shops in over 20 countries, they seamlessly integrate merchants who sell at ABOUT YOU across a wide range of business models.

What you will do

• Oversee and enable the key strategic initiatives across our system landscape in close collaboration with the application teams
• Build performant & high scalable technical solutions in close cooperation with our core teams
• Draft architectural decisions and ensure reliable and state-of-the-art products
• Build and manage high-performing engineering teams within the Supply Tech Unit which includes hiring, coaching and mentoring
• Managing a Unit of 5 different tech teams and collaborating closely with different business stakeholders
• Reporting directly to our VP level and preparing MD decisions
• Challenge business requirements to ensure a good balance between technical complexity while maintaining business value
• Provide leadership to the engineering teams, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.

Technical Qualification

• PHP (Laravel)

General Qualification

• Experienced in accompanying the development of high-scalable software products in an agile environment
• Having a deep understanding of Software Architecture and Infrastructure setups in common cloud providers (e.g. AWS, Google Cloud)
• Designing scalable systems and data modeling
• Deep understanding of business and tech processes
• Comfortable working with senior stakeholders (Directors, VPs or C-Suite), both technical and non-technical
• Having an analytical, data-driven, and efficiency-focused approach
• Working hands-on with high attention to details and have a get-things-done mentality
• Very good written and spoken English skills

Due to the upcoming tasks and responsibilities for this position, it is required to work onsite at our headquarters in Hamburg or in our Berlin office on a weekly basis. Therefore we’ve implemented a hybrid working model that allows us to work remotely on Mondays and Fridays and to work onsite from Tuesday to Thursday.
