SET Ventures is looking for a Impact Operations Associate
As the leading energy venture capital fund in Europe, SET Ventures invest in groundbreaking companies that deliver a positive environmental impact alongside strong financial returns. We are looking for an Impact Operations Associate to manage the analysis, data framework and portfolio support initiatives that underpin this mission.
About SET Ventures
Since 2007, SET Ventures has advanced a carbon-free energy system by backing innovators with capital, community and insights. To achieve net zero energy, we’re convinced the world needsnew business models and applications, not only science and engineering. We have invested in category-defining companies in sectors such as energy storage, flexibility, electric mobility and energy efficiency. We are a small team that combines experience in tech, venture capital, energy transition and finance to drive transformative change. SET is recognised for its responsible investment practices and environmental impact reporting.
Profile
You will work closely with the investment team to evaluate and analyse the impact of potential investments and engage directly with portfolio companies to provide support and best practices. Background on our approach can be found here. Your insights guide the investment strategy, add value to investor relations and contribute to our thought leadership in the sector.
SET has been an early adopter of many best practices in the sector, such as integrating ESG in early stage investing and adopting an impact-linked carried interest at the fund level. We have implemented a robust methodology to support our SFDR Article 9 fund status. We are convinced that impact accountability can deliver tangible strategic value for our portfolio companies and our investors.
We expect you to have a background that reflects both the technical and the policy implications of the energy transition. You have a clear perspective on the major trends across digital and industrial technology. You have an ability to connect the dots from a systems-level perspective. Working with the next generation of entrepreneurs gives you energy and inspiration.

- Advance our thought-leadership by maintaining SET's knowledge and resource library on policies, templates, best practices and expertise;
- Represent SET externally at conferences and speaking engagements;

Requirements
- At least 3-5 years relevant work experience;

- Good understanding of impact investing practices such as SDG, SFDR, Theory of Change, and investment reporting;
- Excellent writer and outstanding communication and presentation skills in English;
- Self-directed team player who works well with a broad variety of people;
- Based in our Hamburg or Amsterdam office;
