 We are looking for a dedicated and driven leader to ensure the continued smooth and efficient operation of our trade control operations. You will lead a large team across Sweden and Hamburg and will inspire and motivate the team to achieve our shared goals, while driving process improvements and challenging the status quo. In this role, you will optimize processes and find innovative solutions. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a background in trading and commodity markets.

At Vattenfall, risk management practices have been integrated into executive steering and decision-making processes to support the company’s value creation and sustainability ambitions. As Director Trade Control, you will be part of the Group Risk Management MT. The Risk Management function has the overarching responsibility for the risk management framework within Vattenfall, acting as a second line of defense. This includes ensuring that Business Areas and Staff Functions adhere to risk governance, coordinating and safeguarding risk reporting, providing transparency of Vattenfall's risk positions, and supporting decision-making for top management and the business.

Our Trade Control Team works predominantly with Business Area Markets where asset optimization and commodity trading activities are centralized for the Vattenfall Group. The Trade Control team is responsible for transaction control and regulatory reporting related to BA Markets activities.

Main tasks & responsibilities

  • Efficiently execute trading back office processes,
  • Ensure efficient and well-functioning regulatory operations,
  • Align, develop and maintain trading back office and regulatory reporting processes across locations,
  • Support business management with proactive development of trading back office and regulatory operations control, analysis and decision support,
  • Act as a bridgehead towards all functional areas in matters with trading back office relevance,
  • Manage an international team of 16 team members based in Germany (Hamburg) and Sweden (Solna),
  • Develop and maintain a motivated and skilled team who keep up high quality work while driving cost efficiency and business transformation.

Ihr Profil

Qualifications

  • University degree in Business Administration, Economics or equivalent education
  • Minimum of 10 years professional experience from risk control or trading back office
  • Management experience of minimum 5 years,
  • Strong business acumen and commercial mindset,
  • Ability to pay close attention to details while understanding the high-level perspective,
  • Fluency in English (written & spoken),
  • Willingness to travel.
